Youth Education and Discipleship
The Youth Ministry at Lake B. places its primary focus on two areas:
1. The cultivation of spaces where young people can develop meaningful relationships with their peers and others in the congregation (a felt connection to a network of support)
2. Equipping young people with a theological framework that can hold and continuously make space for the complexities of their everyday lives - a firm rejection of ‘easy answers’ and spiritual platitudes

The youth ministry is treated as a fully integrated component of the worshiping community - not siloed off or isolated from the rest of the body. The leadership and participation of young people are ‘mandatories’ when we think about what it means to be a thriving congregation. The task is not to groom, mentor, and teach youth to fit into the prescribed ‘boxes’ that already exist within the church, but rather, to create new ‘boxes’ with them.
