Wendy Colmus
Wendy Colmus is the wife to Steve and the mom to twins: Kathryn and Bethany who are Freshmen this year at Mount Rainier High School. She and her family have been attending Lake B since the summer of 2022.
Wendy began her career as a teacher through Teach for America in 1998 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana which is close to where she grew up. After teaching in Baton Rouge for 4 years, Wendy moved to Helena, Arkansas to help her best friend open a charter school. After 2 years in Arkansas, she moved to Dallas, Texas where the girls (and her love for cheese fries) were born.
In 2011, on the girls' 2nd birthday, the family moved to West Seattle and then 2 years later, they bought a house in Burien near Gregory Heights. For the past 10 years, Wendy has worked right down the street at Seahurst Elementary as a 5th grade teacher and then as an Instructional Coach and Multi-Language Learner coordinator. This year, she has started a new position as a Data Literacy Specialist for Highline Public Schools.
A planner by heart, Wendy loves accurate and timely communication and a good paper calendar! She looks forward to serving the youth and families at Lake B!
