Vanessa Coker
Vanessa was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA and moved to Seattle in 2016 where she started Seminary and several other challenging adventures. As soon as Vanessa started high school, she was volunteering in the middle school ministry at her church in CA and has never really stopped being drawn to hanging out and working with middle school and high school students. "One of the spaces I feel most like myself is when I'm hanging out with young people; their enthusiasm, silliness, curiosities, and wisdom bring me so much joy."
Vanessa spends a lot of her time thinking about death and grief (she knows, super bummer) and how we can be present to one another and grieve honestly through the many ups and downs of life. Her work as a Hospital Chaplain and now as a Family and Donation Advocate for an organ donation non-profit heavily informs her presence in this world and her approach to being with young people. For funsies, she enjoys spending time with friends, watching moody movies, going on walks, and chatting with her family in CA.
