The Burien Collaborative
The Burien Collaborative is a collective alliance of non-profit organizations and social service providers in Burien that are united by a shared vision of social justice and equity for a strong community impact. The collective convenes itself to share resources, build relationships, and learn from each other to amplify our collective strength with the understanding that we can achieve far more together than as individual entities.
The Burien Collaborative is a recipient of the King County Communities of Opportunity grant, and consists of 4 organizations that hold ownership over its collective objectives. These organizations are:
The larger group consists of dozens of organizations that meet on a monthly basis. We alternate between resource sharing meetings and capacity building workshops. Anyone from Lake B is welcome to join the collaborative's monthly meetings! Visit our website to add your email to the list.
We host a monthly affinity group for mental health professionals and therapists lead by Larkita Demps of Renew Counseling and Coaching.
The Burien Collaborative will also ask for support when they are organizing around various issues, ranging from feeding the unhoused and supporting youth-led events to showing up at Burien City Council meetings to voice concerns when important decisions are being made.
