Council of Elders (also called Session)
Elders are nominated by the congregation and voluntarily serve terms ranging from one to three years. Their leadership is essential to the short and long-term health of Lake B.
Elders meet monthly (or hold session) to listen to staff and community members about important issues, support church ministries and community partnerships, oversee our annual budget, and discern how we can better embody the gospel fully alive.
Becoming an elder isn't determined by one's age or résumé. Rather, it's informed by characteristics like integrity, wisdom, joy, and imagination. Being an elder also involves empathy, creative problem-solving, and valuing questions just as much, or perhaps even more than, answers.
