“Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and petition, and with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God and the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

To Our Lake B Family -

To be sure, these are the strangest of times we are in. We, your Lake B staff and elders, are doing our best to discern well what is best for our Lake B family, our neighbors and the broader community. With this in mind, we have a few important announcements to make:

Immediate news:
  • We are postponing Sunday service, March 8.: In light of the advisement and guidance given by the King County Public Health Department related to the coronavirus outbreak, we feel this is the wisest course of action. All Sunday school classes are also canceled.
    • In lieu of being together on Sunday morning in the sanctuary, we will be posting a Facebook live broadcast at 9:30 Sunday morning. It will be a conversation with Pastors Lina, Tali, and Paul - along with our special guest Derrick Wheeler-Smith and our music team. If you are on Facebook, please be looking for us on the Lake B Facebook page at 9:30 on Sunday morning. It will be a great way for us to connect virtually.
  • Membership class: These classes are still happening. They will meet on Sunday, March 8, and Sunday, March 22, at 11:00 AM in the fireside room.
  • Lent Small Groups:  All Lent small groups will meet as scheduled. Any changes will be communicated through your small group leader.

Moving forward:
We don’t know how long we will need to be make adjustments to our regular programming. Be reminded that the church is not a building, but the people of God. That said, we urge you to stay connected in other ways - definitely through prayer, but in other ways as well.  It is especially important to reach out to one another and to keep strengthening our connection in relationship - fighting against the isolation and fear that can grip our hearts and diminish our humanity. Check in with each other, particularly our elderly friends.

Session will be meeting Tuesday evening to determine our way forward. We will be communicating again next week.

We encourage you to exercise wisdom and caution. Please take a moment to read the full recommendations given by the King County Health Department.

Our theme for Lent is Wilderness Discipleship. One could say we are in a bit of a wilderness moment right now. Our prayer is that we not be anxious in this moment but rather together we seek and find our peace, wisdom and trust in the One we follow.

Let us join our hearts and prayers together during this time.

With gratitude for you and confidence in our God,
